"But I've never heard of camelina..."
Neither had we. But really, there's nothing new about it. People have been eating this nutrient rich plant since back in the Bronze Age. It naturally produces an oil that's full of Omega 3, unsaturated fats and antioxidants. But we've forgotten about it. Hardly anyone grows it, or has even heard of it.
At a time when our diets are poor and our food is imported and ultra-processed, we think camelina deserves a comeback.
So now we're growing it.
Our delicious cold pressed camelina oil is made from pure camelina that's grown (without sprays) on our family farm in Scotland. And with a high smoke point and delicate nutty flavour, it's great for cooking or salads.
A delicious fresh flavour
If you're into bland beige foods, it's probably not for you. It tastes like fresh sugar snap peas and almonds, with a hint of pepper at the end. At least we think so.
Grown sustainably, on our family farm in Scotland
Our camelina is grown without sprays on our farm in East Lothian. As far as we know, we're the first farmers in Scotland to grow it, but we hope more will join us.
